The Movie "Freedom Writers"

To my 2 Readers...haha

Friday, January 5, 2007, I went to the Galleria with my 2 uso's, and Bry, Jilly and Danna, to watch 'Freedom Writers." It first caught my eye because it was based out of Long Beach, CA and it was also a based on a True Story, I love those kinds of movies. So we caught the 10:00pm showing and it was also Adanna's birthday, she has reached the ripe age of 14..oh to remember them days...ugh!!

But the theater was rather crowded and really loud during the previews, so I was kinda like oh please let these peeps be quiet when the movie starts, and the previews even say that "SILENCE is GOLDEN"..So the movie started and boy did it start out with a BANG!! IT caught my attention right at the jump...I really enjoyed the movie because one of my goals is to eventually become a teacher, so this movie really motivated me to get started. Also before vacation, my cousin Lepe's husband is a teacher for the LA District and he gave me alot of information and insight on what I need to do to become a teacher. So it seems like thats what I decided to start working towards is teaching.

I work well with kids, so I think I'll be okay and I think its something thats way passed due! I guess this portion of my blog is gonna be a combination of 2 things, a movie review and my thoughts for the day.

Lets get back to the movie, I was very moved by the experiences that were shared and the things that the students were going thru in LIFE, its all about SURVIVAL of the fittest to me...Then here comes this teacher who just takes a moment to "CARE" about these kids and finds a way to connect with them and their real tragedies in life....A really good movie! One character was Eva Benevidez, boy did she have to grow up the hard way and learn how to survive and protect your own...She made a believer out of me, even made me shed a few tears. I felt like she really understood her charater in the movie and tried her best to make the audience believe it and she did it for me!
I would recommend this movie to others...have a nice day!
